Sobeys supermarket and pharmacy chain recovering from a ransomware attack.Sobeys Inc is the second largest supermarket chain in Canada, with over 1,500 stores operating across Canada under a variety of banners. Headquartered in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, it operates stores in all ten provinces and accumulated sales of more than C$25.1 billion in the fiscal 2019 operating year. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Empire Company Limited, a Canadian business conglomerate.
It is a participant in the voluntary Scanner Price Accuracy Code managed by the Retail Council of Canada.

“Our stores are currently experiencing system issues that are affecting some of the services offered. All our stores remain open to serve you and are not experiencing significant disruptions at this time.

“While some in-store services are functioning intermittently or with a delay, we are pleased to note that our pharmacy network is now able to operate fully,” a notification on Sobeys’ website reads.
